Safety and quality

Safety and qualitySafety and quality are important key issues in our organisation. Our approach to people, equipment and environment is based on care and respect.

On the issue of safety, all our staff are VCA certified and the organisation itself will shortly also be fully VCA certified.
Furthermore, all boatmen are registered with the NBV-boatman register, everyone has a commercial vessels master’s certificate, and all staff regularly receive training to update their fire fighting skills. In addition, a number of boatmen have a radar licence. It goes without saying that a large number of our staff have obtained a first-aid or an in-house emergency (BHV) diploma.
All staff attend the appropriately timed revision exercises in order to keep their certificates and diplomas valid and to maintain up-to-date knowledge.

As far as safety of equipment is concerned, all our vessels are adapted to the extent that they can come alongside ships that carry dangerous substances. On request we will deploy an extra flat for ships with dangerous substances, so that this barge can be brought into action in case of an unforeseen calamity.

Of course, our vessels carry sufficient safety and rescue equipment on board and all have the required ADNR certificate.

Safety and qualityISO 9001:2000The quality of our service is laid down according to ISO-certification NEN-EN-ISO-9001: 2000. Maintaining and improving the quality of our service is a continuous process.

Our knowledge and experience in the field of quality and safety is very much appreciated by our partners. The Havenschap (Port Authority) Zeeland Seaports and Dow Benelux regularly call upon our expertise concerning safety and design of the jetties.
